New York has shown not just talent, but true heart in this year’s Finals. More than once in this series they’ve been down by double-digits, and have come back to win. Being down as many as 29-points in Game 4, and then coming back to win shows me exactly what this team is made of. While I feel San Antonio is a very good team, and has a very bright future ahead of them, they are just not ready this year. You see folks, their best player is young, and easily frustrated. As a matter of fact, the entire team is easily frustrated. When you look at the Knicks, this is one of the most unselfish, without ego teams I have seen in the NBA in as far back as I can remember. On any given night, any one player can lead in points another and rebounds, etc. They don’t care who gets the headlines. They only care about winning. Many teams don’t have what it takes to bounce back after giving up a 29-point lead to lose in the Final’s. And I really feel the Spurs are not one of those teams. As good as the home team is, New York is playing with momentum, playing very unselfishly, has the depth, the talent, and the coaching to not just keep this game competitive, but to win this game. I feel this will be very close, a lot closer than the pointspread. Take the Knicks. Thank you.

The Cubs took Game 1 of this series yesterday with authority, besting the Giants, 5-1. This is a team that took over the National League Central for a short time, before struggling a bit. But it seems they’re finding their legs once again, winning back-to-back games for the first time since the end of May. They currently sit in the third place in the division at 36-34, 7.5-games back. There is no question that they are a little bit stronger at home than they are in the road. But they are facing a team in the San Francisco Giants that just can’t seem to do anything right. The Giants, at 28-42, sit in fourth place in the National League West, 16.0-games back. They possess one of the poorest home records in the N.L. at 13-19 at Oracle Park this season. To be quite honest, this team is in real trouble. Statistically, they rank 21st in scoring and 23rd in team ERA. That is not a combination for success. Today’s starters are scheduled to be Brown and McDonald. The Chicago right-hander is 2-2 with a 1.74 ERA on the campaign. The San Francisco right-hander is 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA this season. Brown has not allowed a single opponent to put a better than three earned runs in any of his outings this season, between starting or relieving, and on the road, he owns an ERA of just 1.47. McDonald doesn’t possess the worst numbers. However, he has struggled at a home, going just 1-2 with a whopping ERA of 5.29. As I mentioned earlier, the Cubs are starting to find their rhythm again, and what better team to face than one of the worst squads in baseball. Take Chicago. Thank you.

The Marlins took the opening game of this series yesterday with authority, 8-3. That marked the sixth straight overall victory for them, and nine wins over their last 10 contests. Their offense is exploding, while they’re pitching staff has been outstanding. Just in those nine victories in the last 10 games, they have outscored opponents by a combined score a 54-29. This is expected to be a bullpen game for the Marlins. Right-hander Lake Bachar is expected to serve as the opener. He is 0-0 with a 2.97 ERA on the campaign. Bullpen games can be tricky. However, the Miami pitching staff is starting to get in rhythm. As I mentioned a moment ago, they have been outstanding. Over the last 10 overall games, they have allowed three runs or less in eight of those 10 outings. What can you say about the Pittsburgh Pirates? This is a team that is certainly underachieving. They enter today’s game losing two in a row, and seven of their last nine overall outings. To say their lineup has been inconsistent would be an understatement. To say their pitching staff is overworked and fatigued, would also be an understatement. As a matter of fact, their staff has gotten steamrolled, giving up six or more runs in eight of their last 10 games. Today, they are expected to send Bubba Chandler to the hill. The right-hander is just 2-7 in 2026 with an ERA 4.91. He has earned just one victory over his last nine turns, and at home is 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA. Baseball is one of the streakiest of all the major sports. You ride a hot team and fade a cold one. Take Miami. Thank you.

Not only is Dallas winning, they are covering as well. This is a team that is 8-4 overall on the season, and has also covered eight of their 12 contests thus far. They come into this game running hot, winning and covering five of their last six, and seven of their last nine overall outings. With a combination of an outstanding offense, and a swarming defense, I feel they will frustrate the Portland Fire pretty badly here. Speaking of which, Portland is just 6-8 overall, and have been overvalued, covering just five of their 14 games this season. They come into today’s game ice cold, losing and failing to cover four consecutive outings. Funny thing, though folks, their last three opponents, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, they have lost by 16, 15, and six-points. These three teams have all recently been beaten by the Wings, as they took down the Mercury by 15, the Sparks by eight, and the Aces also by eight. The Fire, ironically enough possess some of the coldest numbers in the league. They rank 12th in scoring and 10th on defense. This is a mismatch. Take the Dallas Wings. Thank you.

I have several types of plays depending on the sport and source of information. You will know when I have a BIG GAME or a GAME OF THE MONTH or SEASON. Obviously, these are "Special" games that you need to hit hard. Everyday plays are always an average unit for you unless I specify other. With me, I consistently win so you should progress over the course of the season. All picks are played equally unless otherwise specified such as a GOM or TOP PICK noted play.

I have a basic money management system. I feel that a money management system should be simple enough for anyone to follow, and should be directed at capitalizing on the "Hot Games". See, I have been around bookies my whole life, and understand that you never want to get a name as a "Sharp Better" or "Sharpie" once that happens you will begin to get "blackballed" or :"blacklisted" at both local books and internet books. Therefore, we bet on enough games to come under the radar; however we capitalize on the "Hot Games", as mentioned above. The system is based on units.
The range is from 5 units to 20 units. A safe better would let one unit should consist of 1 percent of your total balance offered by your book. A more risk better would double that and let one unit be 2 percent of his total balance. For example, if I have a 100 game and 1000 a week limit, and I am betting 20 units, a safe bettor would bet $200. A riskier one would risk $400.
