Mike Handzelek's CFB Week 5 Analysis/Review

Western Kentucky @ Boston College Football/ NCAAF September 28, 2024 @ 12:00 PM Analysis: It's no secret that the ACC is down thus far with only Miami (Fla), Pittsburgh, Duke & Louisville among those who remain undefeated. Enter those Western Kentucky Hilltoppers who are fresh off beating perennial MAC kingpin Toledo 26-21. I'm trusting Co-OC's Will Friend & Drew Hollinghead can generate enough points from the playbook for TY Helton's charges early on against new BC HC Bill O' Brien whose still getting familiar with his squad. Let's roll into Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill to specifically take the WESTERN KENTUCKY HILLTOPPERS +200 for 8 Stars on the Moneyline 1st Half (WIN) +1,600 & also in a 5-Team parlay with North Carolina Moneyline 1st half, Auburn Moneyline, Alabama +8 & BYU + 11 @ +1556 odds for 2 Stars! LOSS -200 North Carolina @ Duke Football/NCAAF September 28, 2024 @ 4:00 PM Analysis: How many times have we seen a team off an embarrassment come out like a house on fire? I feel that's what HC Mack Brown will do with his DC Geoff Collins after his team got shelled for 70 points @ the hands of the James Madison Dukes last week. There's were many fluke plays that went against them in that one like a blocked punt for a TD, a pick-6 & an onside kick recovery to name a few. They now take on a Blue Devils team that barely out-stated Middle Tennessee State 340 to 295 last week AND has taken on a cream puff schedule thus far (Elon, Northwestern, Connecticut & those Blue Raiders previously mentioned. Let's not forget it is Boys In Powder Blue who've won 5 straight SU in this series. However, we're NOT asking them to win the game but just halfway through @ nifty odds during Duke's Homecoming (a distraction as a favorite). Let' travel to Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham to play the NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS +200 for 8 Stars on the Moneyline 1st Half! (WIN) +1,600 Brigham Young @ Baylor Football/NCAAF September 28, 2024 @ 12:00 PM Analysis: The public perception of the 4-0 SU BYU Cougars are way off! HC Kalani Sitake's charges have been dissed all season as being lucky & fortunate. I do know they've been underdogs twice thus far. They've passed the test both times in beating SMU 18-15 as 12 1/2-point pups in Week 2 & then smoking Kansas State 38-9 after being spotted 7 1/2-points last week. Yes, HC Dave Aranda's lost by a fluke "Hail Mary" by Colorado's Shadeur Sanders last week in sending them home @ 1-3. what stands out for me is the Cougs' defense as DC Jay Hill has done an excellent job in their 18th ranking in total "D" in the country (16th in defensive efficiency). Situationally, the Cougars have an advantage being off next week while Baylor has a huge game with Iowa State. I look for BYU to continue to play with motivation (12-team, post-season playoff this year) & take this to the end. Let's jet down to McLane Stadium in Waco to play the BYU COUGARS + 7 1/2 @ -260 for 8 Stars (WIN) +800 Saturday, September 28, 2024 Oklahoma vs. Auburn (NCAAF) - 3:30 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -115 Auburn Rating: 8* Mike's SEC Game Of The Week (LOSS) -920 You think this GOW would be the Georgia @ Alabama winner but it's not. For this one, it seems like a no brainer since Oklahoma seems like it's found their QB in Michael Hawkins last week after the benching of Jackson Arnold in their 25-15 loss @ home to Tennessee. The Boomer Schooners are 3-1 SU after last week, but how much merit do we give them for their home wins versus Temple, Houston & Tulane? I further feel the Auburn loss to Arkansas 24-14 holds some more weight with them out-gaining 431 to 334. HC Hugh Freeze failed last week when he put in Redshirt Freshman QB Hank Brown. Why? Because he did for a reason which showed his real starter, Payton Thorne (ex-Michigan State product) a different view from the sidelines. Look for Thorne to respond here against a less-disciplined squad that 21 penalties totaling 206 yards thus far. Remember, this is Oklahoma's 1st roadie of the season as well as their inaugural SEC traveler. The Tigers have 17 starters back on both sides of the ball & have a big edge on offensive yards per snap (8.0 to 4.45) over the Sooners. Let's jet down to Jordan-Hare Stadium in Alabama to play the AUBURN TIGERS on the Moneyline for 8 Stars! In addition, we'll try Auburn in a 1-Star 10-Team Parlay with the NY Jets @ -1, Phila. Eagles Moneyline , Pitt. Steelers Moneyline, James Madison Moneyline, Central Florida Moneyline, Alabama @ +8, Oregon Moneyline, Mississippi Moneyline & with BYU @ + 11 1/2 for a +1462 payback ($65 would pay $ 1,015)! Loss -100 Mike Handzelek's 2024-25 CFB Overall Record: 10-5 for 67% + 1,665 Net Units Mike's Hi-Roller Parlays Record: 1-2 for +500 Units
