Mike Handzelek's NFL Week 10 Analysis & Review

Sunday, November 10, 2024 Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs - 1:00 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Denver Broncos @ + 10 1/2 Analysis: Has the Kansas City Chiefs been blowing many teams out this season on their way to an unblemished record? When you consider their 26-13 win over New Orleans a semi-blowout, then that's the only one of 8 that immediately comes to mind. This game is a CLASSIC sandwich favoring the Broncos. Why did Denver look like they were going through the motions in last week's blowout 41-10 loss @ Baltimore? Because they had this divisional game with their hated rival on deck & in their heads. I've seen this movie more than once including last season when the Broncos as 2-point favorites lost to the lowly minus Rodgers -New York Jets 31-21 2 home before their KC tussle. Once again, it's time to say "Rollem" as that same situation rears its ugly head. But it's even a little sweeter this time. Why? Because the Chiefs are looking forward to travelling to Buffalo next week for another regular season installment of the Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen rivalry (Allen has beaten KC 3 consecutive years in the regular season but 0-3 SU in the playoffs). So what's going to be different about Baltimore's domination last week versus KC's this week? The answer is the running game. The Ravens have super depth in their running game (#1 ranked in the NFL) while KC's ground game sits a clear 70 YPG behind them. This may not change much unless the Chiefs get a healthy RB named Isiah Pacheco back in their backfield. My bottom line says it's going to be hard to separate from a Denver squad with a defense that's ranked 6th versus the pass & yields just 18 PPG which is tied for 3rd best in the league with Andy "The Walrus" Reid's bunch.
