Locking up the regular season AAC crown is something the Memphis Tigers seriously wanted to do, and they did. You may not think they have a ton to play for here. But I'm here to tell you they are playing this game with intentions of winning it. There are naysayers out there stating the game would mean very little for Memphis. But without question, would mean everything for UAB. The Tigers are the top seed in the tournament, and did eke out a one-point victory over the fourth-seeded Green Wave yesterday. The Blazers, who are the third-seed, took down the second-seeded Mean Green yesterday as well. It does look like Memphis should be a shoo-in to make the NCAA Tournament. But a win here would definitely put them in the Big Dance, and in my opinion, would better their seeding as well. The Tigers come in here confident, knowing they have dominated the Blazers, taking three in a row, and eight of the last 10 overall meetings, both straight up and against the spread. This does include wins and covers in both matchups this season; a late-January shredding at home, 100-77, and an early-March away victory, 88-81. This is a team that does not drop too many games, especially big games. Both squads to score, that's for sure. Both teams are also pretty good on the boards as well. The difference you will see here is the Tigers 10th-ranked three-point shooting offense dominating from the outside. They have taken down quite a few opponents with their accurate shooting from downtown. However, this game might get ugly because UAB ranks 284th at defending the arc. I think that will be the difference here. Take Memphis. Thank you.
