Free Winner: Akron Zips Guys, it was by no accident Akron took the regular season MAC crown, going 17-1 in conference play. They took down today's opponent, the fourth seeded team in the conference, Toledo twice this season, winning by seven in mid-January and by nine at the beginning of March. They come into this contest, red-hot, winning 18 of their last 19 straight up. This team can play ball. Let's face it, Toledo has struggled dropping six of their last nine straight up, and only covering the last two of those nine, both against Ohio. The Zips had an easy time of it yesterday dispatching of the Falcons, 96-67, covering an 11 1/2 point spread. That was their third cover in the last four outings. You may not realize this, but Akron ranks in the top 10 in the nation in scoring, averaging over 84 points per game, and in the top 20 on the offensive boards. They just have too much for their opponent. Lay the points with the Zips.
