Today, I've got another FREE WINNER for you. This one is in the First Four matchup between Mount St. Mary's and American. Have you ever heard the saying "looks can be deceiving?". Well, that was the situation as I looked at this game. At first glance, American looked to be the play. They finished second in the Patriot League with an overall record of 22-12. This game is also being played at the UD Arena in Dayton Ohio. So basically, this is an away game for both teams. The Eagles struggled badly when they travel this season, going 5-12 on the road. Meanwhile the Mountaineers sported a 9-8 away mark on the campaign. Yes, it is true American had their way with Mount St. Mary's, taking four in a row straight up in this rivalry. But those games are all pretty darn close. Speaking of the Eagles, they enter this contest running red-hot, winning eight of their last 10, both straight up and against the spread, which includes a six-game cover streak. They dispatched of all three opponents this postseason, all as an underdog, taking down Marist, 62-58, Merrimack, 57-55, and Iona, 63-49. This is a very talented team, consisting of four double-digit scorers, and one player flirting with double-digits. They've got a very talented back court, and three big men upfront that dominate in the paint. They have a much stronger offense, and are better at both ends of the court on the boards.
