They are only one of six teams at this point that are playing .600 or better ball. They sit in second place in traditionally, the most competitive Division in baseball, only 3.0-games behind the New York Yankees. Playoff-caliber teams can win both at home and on the road. When it comes to traveling, the Orioles are a whopping, 16-8 as a visitor this season. They have won eight of their last 10, and lost a heartbreaker last night missing out on a three-game sweep against their Division rival, the Rays. As a matter of fact, that's a strong reason why I'm compelled to side with them today. They were up 3-0 early, only to lose the game late, 4-3. This team does not take lightly, and I feel they're going to bounce back here with a vengeance and make a statement the rest of the American League East. Speaking of which, the Toronto Blue Jays are sitting tied for last-place in the Division, at 28-30 (Tampa Bay Rays, 29-31). I think we can all agree there are certain teams in baseball right now that would kill to be 28-30 (lol). But Toronto has been dominated by Baltimore, dropping seven of the last 10 meetings, which includes two of three this season. Both at the plate, and on the mound, the Orioles outclass the Blue Jays. Baltimore accounts for more than a full run more per game offensively, while they're pitching staff has a Team ERA of nearly one full run per game less. Speaking of pitching, Grayson Rodriguez and Kevin Gausman are scheduled. The Orioles right-hander owns better numbers than does the Blue Jays right-hander. Neither has had whopping success against today's opponent over their career. So, the difference here to me happens to be the stronger lineup and the better bullpen. Both of those belong to Baltimore.
